PROSTHODONTICS
(a) Non removable (fixed prosthodontics)
At SMALTO Implant Dental Clinic, we offer porcelain fused to metal crowns and bridges, as well as all-ceramic ones. They both allow for excellent aesthetic results in front and posterior teeth. Crowns (caps) are dental restorations that are placed over a tooth when conservative restorations are insufficient to restore form and function. Dental bridges serve to replace missing teeth.
Full mouth rehabilitation
Full mouth rehabilitation cases are one of the most difficult cases to manage. They involve not only replacement of the lost tooth structure but also restoring the lost vertical dimensions. Multiple tooth loss, excessive wear from grinding or severe breakage may require a full mouth restoration. Replacing missing teeth will correct related problems such as loss of lip support and facial contours which may affect your appearance, as well as cause difficulties when speaking and eating. Full mouth rehabilitation may involve implants, crowns or dental bridges, composite restorations and if necessary gum treatment.
(b) Removable prosthodontics
These include partial or complete dentures. Removable partial dentures are prostheses that can be attached to existing teeth or implants. At SMALTO Dental Clinic, we use modern materials in order to accomplish the best aesthetic and functional results. Options range from telescopic attachments, tooth-born attachments, implant overdentures or prostheses on dental implants.
As modern dentistry has minimized the use of removable prostheses, we strongly encourage the use of fixed prostheses on implants.
